Danny Johnson’s emerging Nantwich Town squad enjoyed a useful opening warm-up against Crewe FC.

Despite losing to 3-0 in summer evening sunshine at Reaseheath College, Johnson will take positives from the encounter.

It was former Dabbers marksman Nathan Southern who returned to haunt his old club.

Southern scored a hat-trick with goals on 20, 70 and 82 minutes for the Cheshire League outfit.

FA Vase winning captain Phil Parkinson returned to a Nantwich starting line-up that included Aaron Cole, Niall Maguire, Oliver Devenney, Carlos Meakin and PJ Hudson.

But most of Johnson’s summer signings were kept in the wings ready for Saturday’s friendly clash against Crewe Alexandra at the Weaver Stadium.

Crewe FC’s organisation and neat interplay reaped rewards through Southern’s clinical finishing in a good spirited match played before a crowd of 100.

Saturday’s game against Crewe Alexandra kicks off at 3pm.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
