Nantwich Town Council is to host a “Dance Showcase” on the town square.

It’s the latest part of the council’s programme of Saturday Street Entertainment taking place through the summer.

The first “Dance Showcase” will take place this Saturday July 6 from 11am until 2pm.

It will feature a range of styles from dance schools across the area.

These include:

Ceroc – a popular stylish dance referred to as modern jive, is a fusion of salsa, ballroom, hip hop, tango and jive. This will be presented by Ceroc Nantwich who meet every Tuesday evening at Nantwich Civic Hall.

Pritchards Dance and Fitness Academy provides dance classes in Hip Hop, Street, Ballet/Tap/Modern, Zumba and Ballroom and Latin plus Fitness classes in Core Pilates, gym and nutrition.

AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt are coached by Adrian Pritchard and are the under 21s Latin British Champions and UK Ballroom and Latin Champions and finalists of Britain’s Got Talent.

Via Dance Studios is a community-based dance company founded four years ago which welcomes all backgrounds of dancers, with classes for absolute beginners to advanced and specialist dancers.

Via Dance specializes in street, hip hop, breaking, tumble, stretch, fitness, contemporary, ballet, tap and modern.

X Academy is a performing arts school based in Nantwich which teaches pre-school to adults, beginners to advanced and have a specialist scholars programme for gifted performers.

The dance school performs at Crewe Lyceum Theatre annually and offers ISTD examinations in dance.

Cllr David Marren, chair of Nantwich Town Council town plan and partnership committee, said: “We have included something to appeal to all visitors to our town from both the local area and tourists from further afield.

“Whilst celebrating the wonderful wealth of talent that we have in the local area, the street entertainment programme helps to encourage visitors to dwell a little longer and visit our beautiful town again.”
