A beauty salon in Nantwich is facing up to a charity’s corporate challenge by enlisting the support of clients.
Madison Spa has signed up for the Hope House Hospice fundraiser which challenges businesses to grow £50 into a sizable donation.
The salon launched the bid by staging a coffee morning when clients made a cash donation for manicures in bright red – the hospice’s corporate colour.
The kettle was on the boil all morning for a steady stream of clients and on sale were Hope House cupcakes made by therapist Jenna Davies as well as raffle tickets to win gift-wrapped beauty products.
Owner Karen Hamdy said: “Every year we raise a lot of money for breast cancer causes which are very kindly supported by clients but to mark spring, we decided to extend that generosity to a charity for children.
“Although the hospice is based in Oswestry it cares for children from across Cheshire and has a high profile in Nantwich with its charity shop.
“We hope to at least treble the £50 and will be selling raffle tickets throughout the month.”
The open morning also coincided with the launch of a new hair loss treatment in the salon based in the old Kiltearn Medical Centre, off Hospital Street.
