John Dwyer (right) talks to members of public in Chester

Nantwich residents can quiz the new Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner when he tours the county this month.

John  Dwyer, former Crewe & Nantwich Borough councillor, will be holding public surgeries inviting the public to attend and air their views about policing.

He will be in Crewe town square on Friday January 25 meeting shoppers and members of the public.

Mr Dwyer said: “By meeting people face to face as they are out shopping, working or taking their lunch break, I can get a real impression of what is important to them and what they think about the objectives I am proposing for my first year in office and beyond.

“I am also deciding the police budget for the coming year. That will affect how much council tax people pay for policing.

“So, I will welcome people’s views on the budget proposals and where savings could be made to meet the required reductions in funding.

“I see my role as Police and Crime Commissioner as acting as the conduit between the public and the police and I hope people will take advantage of these opportunities to let me know what they think.”

Mr Dwyer will also be staging roadshows in Northwich, Chester, Macclesfield Warrington and Runcorn throughout the month.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
