Nantwich Players

By Claire Faulkner
If you’re lucky enough to have a ticket for the Nantwich Players Christmas production, you’re in for a real treat.

‘Life and Beth’, by Alan Ayckbourn is a Christmas story with a supernatural twist.

Directed by John Powell, the production tells the story of recently widowed ‘Beth’ who is trying to cope, not only with Christmas but also the relatives and relationships which come along with it.

‘Beth’ is wonderfully played by Fran Helliwell, who delights the audience with her charm and growing positivity towards a new life with out her husband.

Cast opposite is Clare Hoy as ‘Connie’, who gives a marvellous portrayal as an alcoholic sister in law, who seems to be dealing with life in a slightly different way.

Graham Binningsley was cast as the overbearing ‘Gordon’, who wants to come back into Beth’s life.

In my experience, The Players always cast well and ‘Life and Beth’ is no exception.

The leads all worked well together and the production was well directed and well received.

Tickets always sell well for The Players, which is testament to their strength and commitment as a local theatre group.

‘Life and Beth’ runs until December 15 so if you can get a ticket, go along.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
