Nantwich Museum

An illustrated talk on the Art of the Olympics takes place at Nantwich Museum at 3pm on Thursday December 6.

It will be given by Adrian Sumner, the creative economy officer at Cheshire West & Chester Council.

The talk will consider the diversity of art generated by the winter and summer Olympic Games over 3,000 years.

Various aspects of the art will be considered including the posters, the linked-ring logo, Greek sculptures and paintings, architecture, mascots and fashions.

Tickets can be bought from the Pillory Street museum, £3 per person (museum trust members £2).

The talk forms part of the Olympic Posters exhibition in the Community Gallery at the museum, which closes on Saturday December 8.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
