More than 400 visitors turned out for the GRWE Greyhound Rescue Christmas Fair in Nantwich Civic Hall.

The event helped to raise £2,500 for the dogs who need help and new homes.

GRWE volunteer event coordinator Emma Bewley said: ““The fair was a great success.

“It was lovely to see so many happily-homed greyhounds, lurchers and whippets visiting with their families, including Spencer, a lovely lurcher lad who met his forever family at last year’’s Christmas Fair!”

Money raised will go towards costs of kennel spaces and vets bills.

A band played Christmas tunes while visitors browsed stalls selling hand-knitted dog coats, hand-made jewellery, chainsaw carvings, aromatherapy oils, paintings and other crafts.

There were restorative massages available for humans and hounds, and a teddy bear tombola saw more than 200 donated cuddly toys given as prizes.

Nine-year-old Scarlett Berry, who has raised over £2,000 for North West animal rescues in the last 12 months, was presented with a certificate of GRWE’’s appreciation for her efforts.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
