Sainsbury's Halloween fundraisers

Supermarket staff in Nantwich helped spook a few customers and raise money for their local hospital.

Workers at Sainsbury’s, on Middlewich Road, had fun in the store by paying £1 each to wear Halloween fancy dress.

And the money raised was put towards the store’s Charity of the Year, the ‘One in Eleven’ Appeal.

The store also held a cake sale in the staff canteen. All cakes had a Halloween theme and £95 extra was raised.

“The event was so successful it has been decided to hold a similar event near Christmas with staff making cakes and candies as well as craft items,” said store spokeswoman Olwyn Payton.

The “One in Eleven” Appeal aims to raise money for a new neo-natal unit at Leighton Hospital.

The appeal recently benefited from a massive £1.5 million donation from the Frank Hockenhull Trust.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
