Rose Skellon collects the Star Colleague Team Member of the Year Award

More than 300 staff, clients and supporters of The Lady Verdin Trust celebrated their annual dinner dance at Nantwich Civic Hall.

The event celebrated the achievements of the Trust, which provides support and care for adults with learning disabilities.

Awards presented included support assistant general awards, NVQ awards, star colleague awards and long service awards.

Chris Chennell, chief executive of the trust, said: “Every year this event grows and grows and I was immensely proud to present nearly 50 individual awards.

“As a charitable organisation we face many challenges externally. However, our staff have time and time again demonstrated a tireless commitment to providing all our clients and their families with a high quality service.”

Star colleague awards included “Team Member of the Year” which was presented to Rose Skellon, and “New Starter of the Year” which were awarded to Graham Scott.

Rose said: “I was completely shocked to have won the award. It was a lovely surprise and very rewarding to know that I had just been nominated.”

Seventeen certificates were also presented to clients who had completed City and Guilds Entry Personal Progress for adults with learning disabilities.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
