Work is to start on one of the hospital’s main corridors from Monday October 8.

The latest area to be closed and renovated is the corridor leading from the outpatient waiting hall to the ground-floor crossroads.

A temporary entrance will be created off the main entrance car park to lead into the corridor near to the chapel and the child and adolescent unit (wards 16 and 17).

Patients attending outpatient clinics, the main outpatients entrance will be unaffected. The appointments reception desk will move to the opposite side of the waiting hall.

The League of Friends shop and toilets in the main reception will remain open and can be accessed via a corridor near the crossroads.

Extra diversions will be in place for patients needing to attend the breast care unit, ECG or pharmacy.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
