Nantwich Show mud bath

Organisers of the biggest annual events in Nantwich have called off the event because of the wet weather.

Nantwich Show will not go ahead as planned on July 25 as Dorfold Park is waterlogged, with forecasts predicting more rain over the next 10 days.

The International Cheese Show, which takes place the day before on July 24, will go ahead after the massive marquee was erected on the site this week.

In a statement, Nantwich Show organisers said: “We are very sorry to announce that due to the wet weather over the past weeks, and the likelihood that conditions will not improve, the 2012 Nantwich Show will not go ahead.

“The International Cheese Awards will still be taking place but all events relating to the Show, including exhibitors, trade stands and arena displays are cancelled.

“We will be making further announcements including refund options over the weekend of July 14 and 15.”

Continual rain over the last few weeks has left the site and fields used for car parking in a saturated state.

It was felt the areas were unlikely to improve as rain is forecast on and off over the next week at least.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
