Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre bosses have urged people not to bring pets to an annual fun day after the mystery death of four foxes.

Tests are being carried out but the cause has not been established prior to tomorrow’s (July 1) fun day at the Nantwich RSPCA centre.

Four foxes have died at the London Road centre in the past two weeks – three of them in the past week.

Further test results aren’t due until Monday. The cattery is unaffected.

There will be some changes to the behind-the-scenes tours being offered during tomorrow’s fun day.

RSPCA Stapeley Grange centre manager Lee Stewart said: “We don’t know what has caused the deaths at the moment and simply can’t take any risks with the health of people or their pets.

“We’re very disappointed but we have to take appropriate measures.”

Events planned involving animals, which included a dog show organised by RSPCA Crewe, Nantwich & District branch, ferret rescue display and Delamere dog team display, will not take place.

Instead there will be Wildlife Art Exhibition including work by Pollyanna Pickering, Chris Wright and William Silvers.

There will also be bric-a-brac stalls, children’s activities, games, a raffle and food.

The event takes place between 10.30am – 4pm and costs £1.50 per adult and 50p per child, all of which goes towards the running costs of the centre.

Mr Stewart added: “It costs a huge amount of money to keep doing the work we do and we rely on the support of the public.

“If you live or plan to be nearby on the day please drop by. There will be plenty of things happening and we’re really looking forward to seeing you there.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
