new caffe nero in nantwich

Caffe Nero has been given full approval to open a new coffee shop on High Street in Nantwich.

And developers believe the shop could attract 2,000 visits a week – despite competition from dozens of other similar outlets in the town.

The company already has more than 500 shops across the UK, but thinks Nantwich still offers a good customer base.

The new shop, which used to be an estate agent, will employ six people – two full-time and four on a part-time basis.

caffe nero planning applicationAgent Brian Madge, on behalf of Nero Holdings, said: “Nero has proved resistant to the economic downturn, and has become a long term asset to many towns, providing facilities for shoppers as well as local jobs.

“The introduction of Caffe Nero will draw customers in  to the location, to the benefit of existing retail premises.”

Work on the ground floor of the listed building has been ongoing while the plans were considered by Cheshire East Council.

Cheshire East planners, in approving the proposals, say there would be no negative impact on residential properties, the Nantwich Town Centre Conservation Area, or general streetscene.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Not another coffee shop in Nantwich!!.we need a craft outlet or a shop like British Home Stores

  2. I agree there is a degree of choice, but I don’t object to another coffee shop. What I do object to is that it is another cloned chain with far too much fuss for a simple coffee and a bland, uninspiring and expensive food choice.
I think the manager of Cafe Nero should pay Harrison’s, Welch’s or the Book Shop a visit to see how it can be done simply, but with some character.
Chain coffee shops are, to me, grim, soulless places, we need independents, not more clones

  3. …yes, just what Nantwich needs, yet another coffee shop. I can think of at least thirteen others within two minutes walk of this one, as well as all the pubs that also serve coffee.
