Police investigating the death of a Nantwich man in a road smash are trying to trace a motorist seen driving nearby at the time.

A 36-year-old man died after his Kia car left the road at Marsh Lane, near the junction of Queen’s Drive, Nantwich, and hit a tree.

It’s believed the accident happened after the Kia had overtaken another vehicle, at around 10.25pm on Friday (June 15).

He suffered serious injuries and later died at Leighton Hospital.

Cheshire Police say the female passenger sustained serious injuries and is described as being in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and would like to speak to the driver of a light-coloured vehicle travelling along Marsh Lane from Nantwich towards Wrenbury at the time of the collision.

Anyone with information should contact Eastern operational support unit on on 101 quoting incident 1030 of 15/06/12.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
