Hospital staff clocked up the kilometres – and the pounds – to help raise money for a new neonatal unit for South Cheshire babies.
A group of around 30, including staff from Leighton Hospital and family and friends, took part in a 5km run at Barony Park in Nantwich.
It was part of the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
They are still counting up their sponsorship, but every penny raised will go to the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity One in Eleven Appeal.
The appeal aims to raise £1million to enhance the neonatal intensive care facilities at Leighton Hospital.
MCH Charity fundraising manager Laura Bailey said: “A big thank you goes to everyone who took part. They put in a fantastic effort.
“Around one in eleven of the 3,000 babies born at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust every year needs additional neonatal care.
“We want to provide modern facilities and more space and privacy for parents at such a difficult time and every step takes us closer to our goal.
“Our staff are leading by example and we hope local people are inspired to get out there and support us any way they can.”
