Reaseheath College’s motor vehicle technicians are learning their trade on the latest road cars thanks to local salvage and vehicle recycling company SYNETIQ.

SYNETIQ was formed following a merger of Nantwich company Car Transplants with three vehicle processing businesses and provides a national service for leading Insurers, company fleets and police forces.

Reaseheath has had a long standing partnership with Car Transplants and since the amalgamation the company has continued to support the college by loaning a range of current models and static engines.

The latest student intake are developing their skills by working on the vehicles in the automative workshop, which has ten vehicle ramps, modern diagnostic equipment and a simulated MOT standard test lane.

Motor Vehicle Programme Leader Simon Bishop said: “We were delighted to receive the latest delivery of cars and static engines from SYNETIQ. By introducing our students to current technology and systems we are able to give them relevant skills which prepare them for the world of work.”

Director at SYNETIQ Mark Schofield emphasised: “We actively support Reaseheath’s motor vehicle department because the next generation of motor vehicle technicians are the future life blood of our industry.”

Level 2 IMI Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair student Oliver Lysaght, who is hoping to become a motor sport technician, said: “The facilities and equipment are brilliant here and offer a lot compared to some of the other colleges I looked at.

“We have the opportunity to work on a wide range of engine sizes, components and systems including hydraulic and pneumatic, and it’s great putting the theory into practice in the workshops.”

In further links with Reaseheath, SYNETIQ sponsors student awards and supported last year’s Family Festival by exhibiting one of its top-of-the-range vehicle transporters.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
