Employers across Crewe & Nantwich are being encouraged to take part in a Virtual Jobs Fair this month.
A range of organisations are teaming up to support people looking for work as the economy faces challenges during COVID-19 lockdown.
It comes as the borough has suffered redundancies at major employer Bentley Motors and other employers.
Crewe & Nantwich MP Dr Kieran Mullan MP has backed the jobs fair and says he is working with Cheshire & Warrington Pledge and Local Enterprise Partnership, Cheshire East, Job Centre Plus and the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce to run it.
He said: “I am very glad that these fantastic partner organisations are coming together to support Crewe & Nantwich residents who are either looking for work or at risk of redundancy.
“Of course there may also be others simply looking to take the next step forward in their careers.
“We may not be able to help everyone who is out of work or whose job is at risk, but working together in this way will make sure we can help as many people as we can.”
The event is taking place on Wednesday August 26 at 10am on the https://learnliveuk.com/ platform.
Registration for potential job applicants opens shortly.
Dr Mullan added: “We know it is a difficult time for some businesses, but in other areas of the economy we are seeing growth so I would encourage employers who are looking for staff to get in touch and take part.
“I’d particularly encourage local independent employers to take part who might not have the recruitment resources of bigger companies.
“Help us to help you. We already have a wide range of employers offering a wide range of roles so any role of any kind is welcome.”
There is no cost to employers to take part and they can share videos promoting the roles they are recruiting to.
They can also be added to the listings of job opportunities that will go up on the day.
Employers can take part live to answer questions from participants about the roles they are offering.
The event will be recorded to allow people to view the resources later if they cannot take part on the day.
People will also be able to view roles being offered in person during the day at Dr Kieran Mullan’s office in Crewe at 249 Edleston Road, Crewe, CW2 7EA as well as a location in Nantwich to be confirmed.
Employers interested can register online via https://forms.gle/kcMPxpj8i7fCsqCT7 or can contact Dr Mullan’s office on 01270 583 432 or email [email protected] with any queries about the event.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
