Insight to Impact business unveiled as Dabbers Den winner

A Nantwich-based education business has scooped top prize in the annual Dabbers Den competition.

Businesswoman Su Turner was unveiled as overall winner in the Dragons’ Den style contest for her flourishing business Insight to Impact Consulting Ltd.

Su is the founder and driving force behind the business.

As a national governance expert, she understood how important it is for school governors to be able to overcome the barriers they face in their roles and maximise time to be effective and efficient.

Through this she developed her solution – Shaping Governance®

Dabbers Den judges were impressed by Su’s drive and determination, and commented that her presentation was exceptional and her passion and commitment to educate school Governors shone through.

Su said: “We are delighted to have won Dabbers Den 2019.

“Shaping Governance® is making a real difference to school governance in Cheshire and beyond; and winning this means that we can broaden our reach and help more schools and pupils benefit.”

This year the standard of shortlisted entries was extremely high and judges had a difficult task to make a final decision.

Martin Webb, partner at Howard Worth, said: “Each year we are more impressed by the individuals that stand in front of us and tell us the story of their businesses and their plans for the future.

“Su demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and showed us how her persistence and determination has made the difference in making her business a success.”

Su will receive a £3,000 cash prize for her business, 12 months of accountancy mentoring from Howard Worth Accountants and a Business Legal Health check from Poole Alcock Solicitors.

Second place in the competition went to The Little Cheshire Gallery – a new art gallery in the centre of Nantwich offering an outlet for local artists and more established names.

Third place was awarded to Florists, Wild Bramble Blooms – who offer rustic floral designs for all occasions.

The ‘Dragons’ Den’ style competition, now in its eighth year, is run in partnership by Howard Worth Chartered Accountants and Poole Alcock Solicitors, with support from NatWest and Cheshire East Council.

The Dabbers Panel consisted of Martin Webb, Partner at Howard Worth; Scott Harding, Partner at Poole Alcock; Joanne Butterill Relationship Manager, NatWest Bank; Councillor Peter Groves, Cheshire East Council.
