The former Thomas cook shop on Swine Market in Nantwich has re-opened under the Hays Travel company.
Sunderland-based Hays took over more than 500 Thomas Cook holiday stores after the company went into administration last month.
Those stores included ones in Nantwich and Crewe as well as in Congleton, Hanley, Affinity Staffordshire, Newcastle, Longton, Stafford, and Rugeley.
All staff from the Thomas Cook shops were also offered their jobs back.
Kelly Huntington, of Thomas Cook Nantwich, said: “We just wanted to let everyone know we will be back open and will be branded as Hays – it’s a different name with the same old faces!
“We were devastated when we closed but are so excited to be back.
“We will be open 9.30am to 5pm Monday – Friday whilst we find our feet and get settled.”
Cheshire Constabulary hosted a recruitment event for people who lost their job as a result of the collapse of Thomas Cook.
The insight event on Friday October 18 was open to former employees or subcontracted staff of the travel firm.
Members of staff from different departments were available to talk about the important work they do to support the frontline.
Hayley Tickle, Human Resources Manager at Cheshire Constabulary, said: “Cheshire Constabulary is a high performing, ambitious force and we aim to be an employer of choice, developing a workforce which reflects the diversity of our communities.”
Cheshire Constabulary will be recruiting an additional 90 officers in 2020 as part of the national uplift recently announced by the government.
The recruitment window will open in January but, due to the anticipated high demand for these roles, the force is now allowing potential new recruits to register their interest by visiting https://www.cheshire.police.uk/jobs/police-constables-pcs/

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
