A51 Bypass crash

A woman had to be cut free from her car after a smash on the A51 in Nantwich closed the road for nearly two hours.

The 28-year-old was seriously injured when her Toyota Yaris was in collision with a white Ford Transit close to the junction with First Dig Lane, Stapeley.

The accident happened shortly before 9am today (January 31).

Fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe had to cut the top of the car off to get to the injured woman, from Stone.

She was taken by paramedics on a spinal board to Leighton Hospital.

The driver of the white van also went to A&E as a precaution.

Cheshire Police are reporting the accident happened at the junction of Newcastle Road and First Dig Lane, but Cheshire Fire and Rescue say it happened on the A51 London Road.

Police re-opened the road at around 10.45am today.

Any witnesses are urged to contact police on the new non emergency number, 101.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
