A busy road in Nantwich has been closed after a vehicle hit a canal bridge.
Police say the canal bridge at the bottom of Welsh Row is currently closed after being hit by a vehicle.
The closure is in place due to possible structural damage.
The Nantwich Aqueduct carries the Shropshire Union Canal over the A534 main road.
The duration of this closure is currently unknown.
Eye witnesses say the bridge was hit by a tractor with a trailer JCB, which left debris off the edge of the bridge across the carriageway.
It’s the second time in the past couple of weeks a major road has been shut after a vehiclke collided with a building.
Swine Market and High Street in Nantwich were closed for several days after a vehicle crashed into the Hope House Hospice building.
