Crewe Brass is planning a return to action in 2021 to coincide with a move a new base in the town, writes Jonathan White.

Crewe Brass will be moving to the Exhibition Hall at Crewe Heritage Centre on Vernon Way and from June 21 they will use the premises for rehearsals and as the band in residence.

Members are already planning live events, with a concert at Crewe Heritage Centre’s expansive Exhibition Hall in November 2021, as well as an annual Christmas concert in Nantwich.

The second section competing brass band is well known throughout South Cheshire and beyond, and has a history going back 40 years.

They were formed when the North Midland Co-operative Society sponsored one of the best youth bands in the country – South Cheshire Young Brass – and included players from the United Co-op Youth Band.

Crewe Brass’ first home was the old Co-op Buildings in Mill Street, Crewe.

From there they moved to Bold Street in Sandbach, another Co-op building and then back to Camm Street Gym.

When the Co-op withdrew their sponsorship, the band became known as Crewe Brass and moved to Shavington Primary School where they rehearsed for five years.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
