Reaseheath College’s Family Festival in Nantwich has been cancelled for the second year due to uncertainty over the Covid pandemic.
The action-packed festival, held on the college’s Nantwich campus in mid-May, will return in 2022 as part of a celebration of the college’s centenary.
It’s the second year running the festival has had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.
In the past, Reaseheath’s Family Festival has proved to be one of the best value days out in Cheshire, attracting thousands of visitors to falconry and horse-riding displays, cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs, vintage teas and music, and ‘have a go’ at activities from tree climbing and dog agility to brick laying and operating a digger.
Festival organiser Stephanie Owen said: “We are very disappointed at having to cancel Reaseheath’s Family Festival again.
“But the health and safety of visitors, students and staff remains paramount and we have feel we have no option but to shelve plans for this year.
“However, the months of planning we have already put in will be rolled over into 2022, when we will be inviting families to join us in a fabulous celebration of Reaseheath’s 100th birthday.”
Reaseheath’s equally popular Lambing and Zoo Weekends, which would have begun at the end of this month, have also been cancelled.
But there will be a programme of online activities for families to enjoy, running from Saturday February 27 to Sunday March 7.
