Alfie on his cycle route in aid of RNLI

A Wrenbury youngster has cycled more than 150 miles to raise funds for the RNLI.

Nine-year-old Alfie Nicholas pedalled five miles every day in October – come wind, rain or shine!

And the Wrenbury Primary School pupil was keen to do it in aid of the RNLI, as a keen fisherman.

His target of £500 was soon reached and so far he has raised an amazing £1,225.

His mum Amy said: “Alfie is a keen fisherman and loves holidays by the sea.

“So he understands the dangers of the water and the important work that the RNLI do.

“Back in September, he decided he wanted to raise some money for the RNLI.

“He loves to cycle, so he decided to set himself a challenge. He has done so well and managed to complete the challenge before 31st October.

“Too many people are still drowning. More than ever, we need the RNLI’s help.”

The RNLI depends on donations to continue its work saving lives around the UK’s coast.

They are the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue, and lifeguards keep watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands.

Alfie is still accepting donations, you can donate at his Justgiving Page here.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
