Snetterton - Jordan Witt, McLaren driver in GT Championship

Silver Cup challenger Jordan Witt aims to keep his 2020 title ambitions on track in the penultimate event of the British GT Championship season at Snetterton this weekend.

Nantwich man Witt is fourth in the class standings ahead of the two one-hour races at the Norfolk track.

Witt and team-mate Jack Mitchell are 29.5 points shy of the Silver Cup leaders after taking their fourth class podium of the year in the previous Donington Park race.

With a total of 50 points up for grabs at Snetterton, the 2 Seas Motorsport drivers are determined to score big with eyes on podium success.

“It’s been an awesome season, I can’t thank the 2 Seas Motorsport guys enough for all the hard work they’re putting in,” said Witt.

“British GT is so competitive, amazing teams and incredible Pro drivers, so to come in as a new team this year, new driver pairing with me and Jack [Mitchell] and a new car to us in the McLaren 720S GT3, I think we’ve done a mega job.”

With only three races remaining in the British GT campaign, the business end of the season has arrived and Witt is more than ready to bid for yet more silverware just a few days from now.

“Donington was a fantastic weekend for us in the end, especially after having to fight through from so far down the grid – the P3 finish has definitely kept us in the Silver Cup title battle.

“Snetterton should be good, the 300 Circuit is a great track.

“Qualifying well will be important for both races. I’m confident we’ll be competitive again and pushing for big points.”

Opening practice for the British GT Championship runners at Snetterton will get underway at 09.35 on Saturday October 3, with session two following at 11.55. Qualifying will then start at 16.00.

On October 4, morning warm-up begins the day’s action at 09.00 with round seven starting at 10.15 and round eight commencing at 15.10.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
