Players and friends of Nantwich Town Wolves Visually Impaired Football Club completed a 42-mile walk to raise money for the club, writes Jonathan White.

The annual walk started in Nantwich and finished in Hayfield in the Peak District.

The fundraising target was £200 but over £800 was raised.

Proceeds are going to Nantwich Town Wolves Visually Impaired Football Club to help with transport and the day-to-day running of the club.

Event organiser Craig Acton said: “The walk was a hard and physical plus a mentally draining exercise in willpower and stamina.

“The walkers – myself, Sean McCormick, Danny Jones, Claire Jenning, David Bromilow and Ryan Hickson – were all helped at some stage by the positive attitude of the other walkers to help us overcome the hard times throughout the day.

“Support car driver Craig Cooper was a sight for sore eyes and feet, as at each 10-mile break he supplied us with fresh food, drinks, socks and words of encouragement.

“Keir Welch was posting our progress throughout the day which was met with words of encouragement and good luck messages from friends and family and the fantastic supporters of the club.

“Plus we were constantly being pushed on by well-wishers on Facebook and the continuous increase on the GoFundMe page, which hit way past expectations.

“At the end we were all hurting and exhausted, but all knew we had overcome fantastic personal challenges.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
