Stereo MCs - headline acts at Nantwich Jazz Festival

Headline acts for the 2020 Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival have been unveiled.

It will be the 24th annual Jazz Festival held over the Easter weekend.

The line up features well-known names, including Stereo MCs and Big Country, as well as returning artists.

On Thursday April 9, popular 80s band ‘Big Country’ will be headlining at Nantwich Civic Hall.

They will be followed by 90s band Stereo MCs on Friday April 10, best known for their song ‘Connected’.

Saturday 11th will see the return of Ruby Turner, who has just completed her 2019 tour with Jools Holland.

And ‘FM’ will headline on Sunday, who have toured with Foreigner, Journey, Thin Lizzy and Heart.

Closing the Civic Hall’s line-up on Monday night are ‘The Blockheads’ famous for their UK number 1 “Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick”.

The festival attracts more than 40,000 visitors to Nantwich across the weekend.

Rob Birch and Nick Hallam, Stereo MCs band members, said: “We are really looking forward to performing at Nantwich Jazz Festival for the first time.

“We will be performing a selection of tunes from across our catalogue from 88 to 2020, which we have been honing and developing to create maximum energy. Can’t wait!”

The ‘Around the Town’ programme sees festival venues across Nantwich host more than 150 music acts with wristband admission across the weekend with one highlight being the Crown Ballroom hosting The Chris Bevington Organisation on Sunday afternoon.

Abbigail Ellwood, one of the festival’s organisers, said: “Festival goers can have fun planning their visit and we look forward to welcoming music fans old and new.

“The Nantwich Jazz Blues & Music Festival has been held over Easter every year for the last 24 years.

“There is something for everyone and the full programme, including more than 150 artists performing at the pubs, restaurants and open-air venues across Nantwich, is now also available.

“Our chosen Charity this year is The Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group.

“Established in 1993, the group have been going strong for over 25 years and have supported many projects at The Christie Charitable Fund including the Paterson Institute, Manchester Cancer Research Centre and currently the Proton Beam Research Room.”

The Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival wristbands are on sale at an Early Bird price of £8 and organisers are encouraging festival goers to buy early.

One wristband allows entry for one person for the whole weekend to all of the festival Around the Town venues.

Tickets to the headliners are now on sale through the festival website, nantwichjazz.com

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
