Second-half - second Nantwich Town goal - Sean Cooke celebrates his goal (1) (1)

Nantwich Town stunned league leaders South Shields with a brilliant away performance to win 4-1.

The victory keeps Nantwich in the play offs in fifth place, and now just six points off the leaders with a game in hand.

The result was no fluke as the Dabbers dominated in the North East, with Joe Mwasile, Prince Haywood and David Webb all causing problems in the first half.

And they deservedly went ahead on 36 minutes when Caspar Hughes fired spectacularly into the top right corner after fine set up play by Mwasile.

Shields fought their way back into the game after the break, as the Dabbers defence came under pressure.

The hosts were level on 72 minutes when a cross deceived keeper Greg Hall, Joel Stair couldn’t clear the header and Jamie Lawrie nodded it into his own net.

The home support were silenced once again though when Nantwich went back in front on 80 minutes.

Sean Cooke took possession and hit a fine shot which was deflected and sailed past Boney.

Walsh and Fuller were then brought on for Cooke Mwasile for the final 10 minutes.

And it was former Stoke City striker Fuller who finished the game off on 90 minutes.

Nantwich broke as Shields piled forward searching for a leveller, and Fuller fired past Boney.

And a minute later the icing was added to the cake for Nantwich as they bagged a fourth in injury time.

Luke Walsh was played in behind the defence and he expertly lobbed Boney to finish the leaders off.

The win gives Nantwich a real chance of competing for top spot and the automatic promotion place from BetVictor Northern Premier League.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
