A busy road in Nantwich is to close for two weeks to allow for road repairs.

The A529 Audlem Road will be closed from the junction with Park Road all the way to the junction with Bishop’s Wood, from January 13 to 28.

According to Cheshire East highways, “patching” works will be carried out between 9.30am to 2.30pm each day.

It’s unclear if the road closure will be in place just during patching work or will remain closed before and after as well.

The road will be closed throughout the works period, with diversions in place which will take drivers more than 12 miles via Audlem, Burleydam and Sound.

Motorists are warned to expect major delays across all other routes in the town.

The closed route is particular busy with school traffic in and out of Brine Leas, and two nearby primary schools of Weaver and St Anne’s.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
