Festival of Football at Nantwich Town in aid of Red Cross

Nantwich Town staged a Festival of Football to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Red Cross.

The event was supported by Nantwich Civic Hall and attended by Mayor of Nantwich, Councillor Arthur Moran.

The day was hailed a success with £500 raised to support the valuable work of the Red Cross and to recognise the contribution of volunteers.

Red Cross supports victims of terrorism, fire, flooding, refugees or helping those transition from hospital to home.

Recent examples include supporting victims of the Manchester terrorist attack and flooding in the North West and working with Leighton Hospital.

Nantwich Town chairman Tony Davison said: “It was a tremendous event, well supported by teams from across Cheshire and Merseyside.

“We had teams playing at Under-8 and Under-9 and everyone enjoyed the day.

“I would like to thank Nantwich Civic Hall for their support, without which the event would not have been possible.”

Dame Patricia Bacon, Cheshire President of The Cheshire Red Cross, was present and paid tribute to Lyndon Wain and his volunteers for organising the day.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
