A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a flat in Crewe, police have confirmed.
Officers were informed a man had been found with serious injuries at a flat in Lord Street at around 9.40pm on Friday (January 3).
Police and paramedics attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being treated as murder and an investigation has been launched.
Two men from Crewe, aged 22 and 39, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 22-year-old has been released on conditional bail and the 39-year-old has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Paul Hughes said: “I understand that incidents of this nature are extremely concerning to the community and I would like to reassure them that we are everything we can to establish exactly what has taken place and who was responsible.
“We are at the early stages of our investigation.
“At this time this appears to be an isolated incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing and I urge anyone with any information that may help our investigation to get in touch.
