train hit person - Arriva Trains Wales - Nantwich railway station sign

A new rail timetable for Sunday services in Nantwich will come in to effect this weekend, says the Crewe and Shrewsbury Passenger Association (CASPA).

New Transport for Wales timetables do not impact on weekday services, but Sunday services are completely altered.

Martin Bond, spokesman for Crewe and Shrewsbury Passenger Association, said they have been lobbying for a much improved Sunday service for decades.

“We at last have something,” he declared.

With the new Sunday timetable most of the Manchester – Wales services no longer call at Nantwich or other intermediate stations, which will now go non-stop Crewe – Shrewsbury.

Instead, there is a regular shuttle service, similar to that during the week, calling all stations.

This will provide Nantwich and the other stations with a regular train every two hours in each direction.

“Hopefully, this won’t be the last change,” added Martin.

“Transport for Wales that operates the service has an aspiration to operate the same service on Sunday as Saturday – though probably starting later in the day.

“However, it isn’t likely to be introduced until we get the new trains that are on order.

“If you are a regular traveller it is recommended that you do check your train times for next week, especially if your journey involves changing trains.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

  1. Crewe to nantwich today (Sunday 15th) is 15.18 then a wait till 21.11…..ridiculous service… How does this help anyone?

Actually there is one train in each direction that is still a long distance going to or from Cardiff. From Nantwich it is the 1133, which fills the gap between the 1022 and 1329 shuttle services.
