Burglars raided a business property under construction in Calveley near Nantwich and made off with a haul of copper piping.

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident at around 12.30am today (Friday 22 November).

Two men entered a business premises that is under construction on Nantwich Road.

They stripped copper piping from the building and fled in the direction of The Chantry estate.

 

Other inquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with any information or footage that may help their investigation to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Steven Smith, who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: “Burglary is a serious offence and we are determined to establish who was responsible for stripping the copper piping from the business premises in Calveley.

2Enquiries are ongoing and I urge anyone who was in the area and believes that they may have seen the two men, either before they entered the premises or as they were fleeing the scene, to get in touch.

“We believe that one of the men may have been injured when he left the building.

“We also want to hear from any motorists with dashcams who were driving in the area before 1am and believes they may have footage of the offenders.”

A 25-year-old man from Merseyside has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is currently being questioned by officers.
