The chairman of Crewe & Nantwich Ladyhawks netball club has been honoured at national awards held during the sports World Cup in Liverpool.
Imogen Greatbatch won the Rose Award – presented to a volunteer or organisation that has made an exceptional contribution to netball in any capacity within the last 12 months.
Imogen (pictured, right) collected the honour at the 2019 Vitality Goalden Globe Awards St Georges Hall in Liverpool.
Winners from nine regions battled it out for the national title across eight awards.
Imogen was scooped her award for her volunteering role with Ladyhawks Netball Club as well as her former role as chair of the Netball North West Regional Management Board, balancing alongside being a new mum and working for the University of Manchester.
She said: “Netball is such an amazing sport.
“I am hugely grateful to receive such a prestigious award and feel privileged to volunteer alongside so many incredible people making Netball happen.
“There are so many different opportunities to be involved off court in Netball and I would encourage everyone to seek them out and get more involved, it’s incredibly rewarding.”
Many of the Ladyhawks players enjoyed a day out at the recent World Cup (below) where England secured bronze medal, losing in the semi-finals to eventual winners New Zealand.
