lorry overturned A534

A lorry driver was taken to hospital after his vehicle overturned on the busy A534 near Nantwich.

The incident happened shortly before 1pm today (July 9) pm on Wrexham Road at Brindley, Nantwich.

Fire crews from Nantwich were called out and an oil leak was found on the vehicle, which had to be stemmed by using absorbent mats and paste.

The driver was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution.

The lorry will be safely recovered, there were no other injuries.

The road was closed for a short time while recovery was made.

It’s the latest in a number of accidents involved HGVs on that stretch of the single carriageway A534 which has a number of sharp bends.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

From my perspective it seems these drivers are all driving without due care and attention – I am sure the police will ensure that the law will be observed

This is the 6th major accident, that I’m aware of, in the last 4 years, on this stretch of the A534. I’ve also witnessed several “near misses”. The bends are very deceptive, and it’s mostly lorries and motorbikes that are involved in the accidents. There has been at least one fatality. When will the authorities start to take this seriously ?

  3. This strip of Rd needs to be banned for Lorries. They should always use safer roads. They all travel too fast on it and put drivers at risk.

This is the third HGV to overturn in the exact same place in the last 18 months. They travel far too fast along this stretch of road. Someone is going to be killed.
