Crewe & Nantwich Scorpions Ladies Netball team have secured funding for new kit to play in the South Cheshire Championship League.
The team has been awarded a kit donation by Cheshire Freemasons after a plea by player Katie Richmond.
Katie is a part-time waitress at Willaston Masonic Hall and she called on the help of the management team there who to help with a donation.
The Scorpions were formed in 2014 by Zowie Cooper who started playing netball after having her daughter as a way of keeping fit.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength moving up from the second division to the South Cheshire Championship League.
The team, which is for over 16s age group, plays at three different venues – Shavington Leisure Centre, Middlewich Leisure Centre and the Lifstyle Centre in Crewe.
Zowie said: “Netball is a great sport, it not only keeps us active but also gives us an opportunity to socialise with other women.
“Playing netball and being part of a team gives us a much needed break from the stresses that both work and family life can bring.
“We are really grateful for the Cheshire Freemasons generous donations to fund our netball dresses we wouldn’t have been able to get the dresses without them.”
