Police are probing a car fire in Wrenbury near Nantwich which is thought to have been started deliberately.

The fire involved a Land Rover parked on Pinsley Green Road in Wrenbury at around 12.20am today (Sunday May 12)

A fire crew from Nantwich were called to the scene where they found a Land Rover on fire in the gateway of a field.

They used breathing apparatus and a single hose reel to put the fire out, and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots on the vehicle and surrounding area.

They notified Cheshire Police of “deliberate ignition”.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 398589.
