Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

Thrillers make excellent theatre. Don’t believe me?

Go along and see Mindgame at The Lyceum this week and find out for yourself.

Written by Anthony Horowitz and directed by Karen Henson, Mindgame is a physiological thriller set in a mental asylum.

There were so many twists and turns in this production.

I honestly had no idea how the story would end, but this one of the reasons I enjoyed watching it so much. It intrigued me.

The story captured my interest and made me think.

With each small revelation, I thought I had it figured out, but then something else would happen and I was back to doubting myself and my logic.

The small cast carried the suspense and tension of the storyline well.

There were some brilliant moments between Andrew Ryan who played Styler, and Michael Sherwin who played Farqhar.

As you continue to watch and become immersed into the complex storyline, you begin to realise that the set has its own character.

There are small subtle changes and alterations, which make the audience doubt and sometimes grow in their own confusion just like the characters on stage.

Designed by Sarah Wynne Kordas, the overall effect is quite brilliant, and it is the perfect setting for this story.

Mindgame is on at The Lyceum until April 27.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
