A man who fell 15ft from a bridge into the River Weaver in Nantwich was rescued by fire crews.

The man plunged into the cold waters shortly before 3am yesterday (March 24) off the Welsh Row bridge.

Firefighters from Nantwich, Chester, Lymm, Ellesmere Port and Powey Lane were called out to the incident and found the man partly submerged in the river.

The team used a 7-metre ladder and a safety pack to rescue the casualty and he was passed to the care of paramedics.

Firefighters were kept at the scene for around 35 minutes.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
