tickets - Fun at the Hack Bunker Secret Buner (1)

Free “Residents’ Festival” tickets for local attractions such as Crewe Lyceum, Hack Secret Bunker, Nantwich Museum and Reaseheath College’s mini zoo have been released online.

Hundreds more free tickets are available to download for the festival, taking place between Saturday March 30 and Sunday April 7.

The festival is a way of thanking local residents for welcoming more than 64 million tourists into the county each year.

It coincides with VisitBritain’s English Tourism Week and is being supported by Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West & Chester Council and Warrington Borough Council.

Frank Jordan, Cheshire East Council executive director of ‘Place’, said: “Residents play a vital role in our welcoming visitors to the county and this free festival is a wonderful way to celebrate their contribution.

“I am glad there has been huge demand for the Resident Festival tickets and I hope as many people across the county sign up for the latest release of tickets.

“Visitors often comment on the wealth of different tourist sites available in Cheshire East – there really is something for everyone – from great outdoor experiences, unique events and high-quality experiences and attractions.

“For the first time, Nantwich’s Reaseheath College’s will be showcasing its mini Zoo, featuring meerkats, porcupines capybara and alpaca and residents can also enjoy Knutsford’s spectacular Tabley House Collection.

“I am very proud of the huge contribution that Cheshire East’s tourist industry makes to prosperity in the county and the way top attractions are always thinking ahead to create new and engaging ways of presenting and using their sites.”

Also open during the Festival will be Jodrell Bank, Hack Green Secret Bunker near Nantwich, Crewe Lyceum Theatre and the fascinating Nantwich Museum.

Elsewhere, attractions opening their doors include industrial gems like the ‘Cathedral of the Canals’, the Anderton Boat Lift and the award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum, which tells the fascinating story of salt in Cheshire.

Mark Livesey, Chief Executive of Marketing Cheshire, said: “This is a great chance for Cheshire residents to have a great free day out and celebrate the amazing tourist attractions on our doorstep. We hope as many residents as possible join in the fun.”

The number of tickets available will vary according to the attraction and everyone applying must have either a Cheshire or Warrington postcode.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
