Both teams showed great initiative, however, and agreed to referee the game themselves.

Luke Gillan had put the home side ahead, but goals from Curtis Sinnott (2), Faith Arrowsafe and PJ Hudson put Athletic in the final.
In the Crewe FA Sunday Vase semi-final, Winsford Over pulled off a surprise when they won 2-4 at League leaders, The Ark.
Joe Pointon (penalty) and Chris Lumsden scored for The Ark with Nick Harvey (2), Chris Latham and Dean Mundy on target for the visitors.
In the other semi-final, George and Dragon were too strong for AFC Wickstead, winning 1-4.
