This amazing collection of World War 2 newspapers has been donated to the Oxfam Bookshop in Nantwich.
The collection, donated anonymously, includes more than 100 original newspaper editions all covering the major events of the 1939-1945 war.
Copies of Daily Mail, Daily Express, Daily Mirror, Evening Despatch and Daily Sketch among others include the first one “Peace In Our Time” and the bombing of Pearl Harbour.
Other headlines include the dropping of the Atom bomb on Japan, headlined “The Bomb that has Changed the World”.
Val Richards, shop manager on Pepper Street, said: “The newspapers are in very good condition, and amazing donation!
“I would like to avoid any damage, so they are not yet being displayed on the shop-floor.
“If anyone would like to view them, they can call in advance to arrange it on 01270 628569.”
Shop volunteer Brian Rouse added: “It was a mystery donation. We get them all the time.
“The best mystery donation was a first edition of The Importance of Being Earnest which sold for £650, and more recently books valued over £100.”
The newspapers are one of a number of interesting donations received by the store in recent weeks.
Another included a donation of more than 100 Folio books, many in near-mint condition.
One is a beautiful 3-volume box set about Byzantium is still shrink-wrapped.
The books cover History, Literature and Travel mainly.
And another large donation comprised of hundreds of quality Classical CDs.
All have been sorted and priced, but due to limited space only about half of them are out on the shop-floor.
