The Wrenbury & District Model Railway club has celebrated its fifth birthday.
The club has grown in membership and popularity since its formation and organisers are hoping to encourage more to join.
With more modest plans, the Wrenbury club is extending its 00 layout using modular boards which measure 48 x 20in.
Two of these boards have also been constructed for Brine Leas School in Nantwich which will mean when they visit they can link their two boards to the club layout.
A new membership has been created for a parent and child, reducing the cost in a bid to encourage younger members.
The club will hold its 6th Open Doors event on Friday and Saturday July 5-6, and attend the Societies Spectacular event in Nantwich on July 20.
Plans are also in the pipeline to take a portable layout to the Audlem Festival of Transport on July 28.
At the Open Doors event, there will be demonstrations of 0 gauge locomotives on the club’s new 22ft-long layout and a garden railway using live steam in addition to visiting 00 and 009 gauge layouts.
These will run alongside the clubs own N & 00 layouts.
