A man had to be cut free from his car today after a smash off the A51 near Nantwich closed the road.

The incident happened at around 11.45am and involved one vehicle on the busy route close to Reaseheath College.

Police closed the road between the college and the Bluestone Lights while firefighters cut the man free from the red Vauxhall Corsa.

Crews used specialist electronic cutting equipment to release the casualty who was then treated by paramedics.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 11:46 police were called to reports of a collision on Wettenhall Road, Reaseheath.

“Officers attended the scene and found there had been a vehicle collision involving a red Vauxhall Corsa.

“A man was medically trapped in the Corsa. He was released by firefighters and passed to paramedics.

“His injuries are not believed to be serious at the current time.

“The road was closed for a short period of time while emergency services dealt with the incident.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
