Staff and pupils are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Wistaston Berkeley Primary School.

The school, now called The Berkeley Academy on Laidon Avenue, first opened on Monday January 6 1969.

It opened with 106 children from Wistaston Church Lane School, along with headteacher Mr Williams and four teachers – Deputy Head Mr White, Mrs Wishart, Mrs Spencer, Miss Hennell (pictured).

Two ‘Memory Sharing’ Coffee Afternoons will take place on Tuesday February 5 and Friday March 29, both 1.30-3.30pm.

Former pupils, staff, parents are invited to bring in any memorabilia and photos to share memories.

Tours of the school will also be available.
