A special “Elle’s Christmas” party in memory of cystic fibrosis sufferer Elle Morris helped raise almost £3,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The event, in the Nantwich Suite at Rookery Hall & Spa in Nantwich, was heled to remember the life of Nantwich youngster Elle who died aged 11 at Great Ormond Street Hospital in January this year.

Stapeley Broad Lane pupil Elle made her way into the nation’s hearts when she became the face of the Trust as she waited for a double lung transplant.

Her “Elle’s Wishes” campaign helped raise awareness and was backed by celebrities, campaigners and patients around the UK.

But she suffered a setback after undergoing a double lung transplant, after a series of seizures and complications she passed away.

The Christmas party featured stalls, crafts, entertainment, refreshments and a prize raffle.

There was also an information point relating to cystic fibrosis.

In total, the party raised £2987.21.

Elle’s mum Becky, from Nantwich, paid tribute to all the local businesses who helped out.

She said: “A huge thank you to everybody that came to Elle’s Christmas……what an amazing & special day!

“A huge thank you to all my usual star helpers and very good friends, family and also to Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa for having us there.

“Also to This Is The Cat, Invite Events, Booth Tube, David Bloor Photography, Jordy’s Pizza for your generosity of attending for free.

“Nantwich Christmas Tree Farm for your kind donation of a beautiful Christmas tree that will now be used at Elle’s old School Stapeley Broad Lane C of E Primary School and the school Choir, with the help of Mrs Acklam, for their beautiful singing.

“Jo Pennell for your beautiful Christmas Cake, and also our sponsors Buildbase & Cooper buckley for our top amazing raffle prizes.

“And to the Crewe and Nantwich Round Table for their very kind donation of £500! And everybody that kindly donated raffle prizes.”

All proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
