Nantwich war memorial and town square

People will pack the streets of Nantwich tomorrow to pay their respects on the centenary of the end of World War One.

And today we publish a list of those men from Nantwich who gave their lives between 1914-1918.

So for those men, we call on our readers to pay their respects at 11am tomorrow, wherever they are.

Tomorrow’s main parade in Nantwich is led by the Band and Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary, and will arrive on Nantwich Square at about 10.35am.

Members of the public who wish to be present at the service are asked to stand behind barriers which will be erected in the Square.

The Rector of St Mary’s Church, Rev Dr. Mark Hart, Padre to the Nantwich Branch of the Royal British Legion, will lead the service around the war memorial on the Square.

After the church clock strikes 11am, Chairman John Dwyer will read the Exhortation followed by the sounding of the Last Post before the two minute’s silence.

This will be followed by the sounding of Reveille and President Arthur Moran saying the Kohima Epitaph.

The service will continue with the reading of the names of the fallen by Nantwich Air Training Cadets and Nantwich Army Cadets.

The names of the fallen from Nantwich can be viewed, below.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
