Wistaston Leopard and Square One players fight for the ball (1)

Wistaston Leopard pushed league leaders Square One all the way in their Crewe Regional Sunday League Premier Division encounter.

The teams (pictured) were goalless at half time at the Eric Swan sports ground yesterday (November 4).

But the leaders scored a second half goal from Dale Capper.

And despite Wistaston’s best efforts, an unlucky own goal gave the visitors the victory and Square One remain on top of the league.

NHB move up to second after their 0-4 win at Talbot, thanks to goals from Frank Farrington, Will Ellwood, Nick Ball and Jamie Ball.

Betley went down 2-4 to Salvador.

Chris Worrall and John Proudlove scored for the home team, with Ricky Barlow (2), Jez Tagg and Lee Mellor on target for the visitors.

White Lion Ford Lane beat Crewe Athletic 6-2, in a game that was not without controversy.

Josh Clarke and Faith Arowosafe scored for Athletic, with Russell Schofield (2), Charlie Maines, Malcolm Bostock, Lewis Clark and an own goal scoring for White Lion.

Faddiley began in blistering style against Elworth Park Rangers, scoring twice in the first eight minutes, and went on to win 7-0.

Richard Ford scored two, with the other goals coming from Oliver Timony, Mike Scott, Ash Lawton, Chris Stokes and Will Emerton.

In Division One, Haslington earned a fine 3-3 draw against league leaders, The Ark.

New signing Josh Dunne (2) and Damian Sloan scored for Haslington, with Alex Russell, Steve Hughes and Ben Palfeyman on target for The Ark.

AFC Wickstead stay in second place after their 2-0 win at Broadhurst thanks to a brace from Dan Croft.

George and Dragon, with games in hand, continue to impress, and won 2-0 at home to White Lion, thanks to goals from Matty Davies and Lee Jones.

White Horse yet again squandered a lead, going down 1-2 to Audlem, who have been finding wins elusive.

White Horse took the lead through Dan Wade, but were then reduced to ten men, and goals from Thomas Capewell and a late winner from Ben Spruce gave Audlem their victory.

Winsford Over and Sandbach shared the goals in a 4-4 draw.

Callum Lovell, Dean Mundy, Jamie Cain and an own goal scored for Winsford, with Dave Furber (2), Ricky-Sol Heras and James Crowther netting for Sandbach Town.

Sydney Arms stay in third place after a Rhys Potter hat-trick and a goal from Elliott Reeves gave them a 4-0 win over new boys Nantwich Pirates, who continue to find life difficult.
