Jason Cook heads up a top bill of comedy acts at the next ‘The Very Best In Stand Up’ at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday November 2.
The first act of the evening is Andy Robinson, a seasoned performer who started stand up in the early 90s.
He has worked as a warm up artist for popular TV shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Shooting Stars, Later with Jools Holland, Jonathan Ross, as well dozens of others.
If more trumpets are to be blown Andy has also been the support act for Sean Lock, Rich Hall, Rhod Gilbert and Paddy McGuiness.
He is also known as comedy legend Jo Brand’s regular support act, and has worked with her for the past ten years.
The next act, Troy Hawke, is making his Nantwich debut after a tremendous run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival.
Troy is the latest creation from Milo McCabe, a character comedian with over ten years experience on the circuit.
He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh show award and was listed as GQ’s Top Ten comedy shows of the festival.
TV credits include ITV’S Benidorm, BBC3’s Live at the Electric and various hidden camera and talking heads projects on Channel 4 and 5.
Last up is certified Nantwich favourite Cook (pictured).
Behind his cheerful Geordie exterior lurks a dark, sharp comedic mind capable of taking an unsuspecting audience to places they didn’t want to go.
His true-to-life stories drag you in and won’t let go.
Cook is close to the edge but always intriguing and blessed with the sort of charm that will have you laughing in spite of yourself.
Compere and host is Kiri Pritchard McLean.
The Welsh comedian has been making a name for herself in the short time she’s being performing stand up and has achieved success as one fourth of multi-award winning sketch group Gein’s Family Giftshop, as writer/director.
Her unique comic voice is whip smart with material to match, and she is an apprenticeship on the North West comedy scene.
The show takes place on Friday November 2 and tickets are on sale now priced at £10.
They are available from Nantwich Civic Hall direct or from the SeeTickets link on www.civiccomedy.co.uk
A limited number of table reservations are also available for the show to groups of six or more on a first come, first basis.
Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
