Funding exhibition - Ada Nield Chew Painting by Les Pickford (1)

Nantwich Museum is seeking funding for its forthcoming exhibition “Empowerment of Women – a local perspective”, which is due to open on Tuesday October 30.

The exhibition celebrates the centenary of the earliest successes of the women’s suffrage campaign.

It look at the lives of three local women who in different ways took up the causes that the women’s suffrage movement fought for.

They are the writer and community activist Helen Macfarlane, champion of women’s rights Ada Nield Chew (pictured), and most recently Gwyneth Dunwoody, long-serving Labour MP for Crewe and Nantwich.

Local activities furthering the suffrage cause and also women’s contributions to the First World War are explored.

As an independent museum and registered charity, the museum depends upon local authority grants but must itself fund more than half its operating costs.

It is for this reason it is seeking £300 to meet the cost of its next exhibition through Crowdfunding, which can be accessed through Just Giving, https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/nantwichmuseum

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
